Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment recently released "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure" on Blu-ray and DVD. Ashley Tisdale stars in this fish-out-of-water tale about a small town Diva and her dog’s mis-adventures in New York City!
About the movie:
Just how fabulous do you have to be to make it big in the Big Apple? One aspiring diva is about to find out...the hard way! Ashley Tisdale shines in this totally captivating comedy.
After a talent scout spots her performing with her dog Boi at a charity gala, Sharpay Evans (Tisdale) sets off for the bright lights of NYC, convinced instant fame and fortune are in the bag (a designer bag, that is). But theatre's a dog-eat-dog world, as she and Boi discover when they encounter the devious owner of a pampered pooch named "Countess" and a scheming Broadway starlet who will do anything to crush the competition. Fortunately, Sharpay also meets Peyton (Austin Butler), a handsome student filmmaker who finds Sharpay nearly as fascinating as she finds herself. Sparkling with fun, fashion and fantastic bonus features, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure will make your whole family stand up and cheer!
Our Review:
We had a Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure movie night. It's always a blast with my 7 and soon-to-be 9 year old daughter, along with 3 of their girl cousins. Aside from the girly fun, the movie turned out to be, better than we expected. As with most spin-offs they have a hit-or-miss element to them, well Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure (A spin-off of the High School Musical trilogy) was a definitely a hit in our home with our kids. The girls and yes even my sons, enjoyed each of the High School Musical movies. It's even more awesome that the movie was filmed at my old High School, which really is called East High School.
The most hilarious line according to our kids was, in the studio apartment scene, where Sharpay enters the apartment and Sharpay says, "You said this was a studio, NO WAY! MGM is a studio, this, this is a roach motel with no room service!"
We loved Sharpay's character in this film because she shows confidence and what can happen when you follow your dreams and aspirations, regardless of what the journey might bring. Boi, the dog was such a cute character too!
