Balance Benders‏ Review

Balance Benders

Price: $9.99 per level

About the Product & Company:

For more than 50 years, our award-winning products have helped students of all abilities achieve better grades and higher test scores with highly effective lessons that sharpen the mind as they teach standards-based reading, writing, mathematics, science, and history. Our products are fun, easy to use, and guaranteed to produce better grades and higher test scores.

We design critical thinking into reading, writing, math, science and history lessons so students carefully analyze what they are learning. Deeper analysis produces deeper understanding, which results in better grades and higher test scores. Over time, students who practice critical thinking learn to apply it throughout their education and life.

"If we teach children everything we know, their knowledge is limited to ours.  If we teach children to think, their knowledge is limitless." - Michael Baker, President
We do not teach through drill and memorization or teach to the tests—we empower the mind! Our goals are higher grades, top test scores, and problem solving skills to meet all of life’s challenges. The Critical Thinking Company is recommended by Mensa, Learning Magazine, The Well Trained Mind, Dr. Toy, Creative Child Magazine, and used by Sylvan Learning Centers, Club Z In-Home Tutoring, leading U.S. public schools, and gifted & talented programs in 57 countries throughout the world.

About Balance Benders:

Students develop deductive thinking and pre-algebra skills as they solve balance puzzles that are more fun and addictive than Sudoku puzzles! Students must analyze each balance to identify the clues, and then synthesize the information to solve the puzzle. Try one—and then try to stop!

Our Review:
We received the Balance Benders for Grades 2-6 for our review. This book has been a great learning book to keep their little minds thinking and solving problems. Our soon to be first grader loves math and she loves the challenge that this book presents. Our soon to be 3rd grader definitely enjoyed the concept of solving balance puzzles. The two of them work together to solve the puzzles and I love to see them enjoy learning and analyzing each problem together. Toward the middle of the book it is a lot more tough for the two of them, so we have made it a goal to finish solving the entire book by the end of this year.

Boudreaux's Butt Paste Review

Boudreaux's Butt Paste is a Pediatrician Recommended diaper rash ointment.
Blairex Laboratories, Inc. is the manufacturer of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Blairex makes a number of products in the Boudreaux's Butt Paste line, including the following:
Original Boudreaux's Butt Paste is a formula developed by a pharmacist, in collaboration with a pediatrician; their goal was to come up with a formula that would prove effective in the treatment of diaper rash. This formula contains 16% zinc oxide and is a thick paste that glides on smoothly and washes off easily, also having a mild scent. It's available in several sizes at your local drug store, discount store, or grocery store. It not only helps to alleviate the diaper rash but to prevent it, as well. Boudreaux's Butt Paste has been featured on the Oprah Show, the Tonight Show, the Today Show, People Magazine, ESPN, and While You Were Out on TLC

All Natural Boudreaux's Butt Paste contains more natural ingredients, but also contains 16% zinc oxide. It too is a formula designed to alleviate the diaper rash, as well as moisturize the skin on baby's bum, to help prevent chafing and irritation. This lighter cream rubs in clearly and smoothly, also having a mild scent. It too can be purchased at your local drug, discount, or grocery store.

Blairex also makes other products for baby, including Boudreaux's Rash Protector, Boudreaux's Baby Kisses, Baby Butt Smooth, and Boudreaux's Body Wash & Shampoo. Blairex has been in operation since 1976, working with various health care facilities, doctors, and families to provide various other health care products from sterile saline solutions to sleeping aids. Located in Columbus, Indiana, they are still in operation, working to manufacture products that will meet the needs of various patients and their doctors each and every day. Our Review:

As a mom with two in diapers, diaper rash ointment is definitely a must-have. I had heard of the original butt paste, but have never used it on my children.

What we liked about the Original Boudreaux's Butt Paste is the light scent, it reminds me of cocoa butter. There are some rash ointments that just smell way too strong. I also liked how easy it is to spread and that it wipes off easily. I even used tissue to wipe it off of my hand and it wiped of easily. It worked wonders last week when my daughter had a tummy ache. Her bum was protected well and it cleared up her rash nicely.

The All-Natural Boudreaux's Butt Paste ingredients made me feel comfortable enough to use it on our newborn. The results have been great especially on his sensitive skin. The Original Boudreaux's Butt Paste worked more quickly for my daughter than the All-Natural Boudreaux's Butt Paste. The overall value and quality of the product is definitely worth paying a little more.
