Disney's Prom

Brief Summary:

At “Prom,” every couple has a story and no two are exactly alike. Several intersecting stories unfold at one high school as the big dance approaches; “Prom” portrays the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite.  For Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden), it’s a battle of wills as she finds herself drawn to the guy (Thomas McDonell) who gets in the way of her perfect prom. Fellow seniors Mei (Yin Chang) and Tyler (De’Vaughn Nixon) harbor secrets, while others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school’s most seminal events. There are hundreds of nights in high school, but there’s only one “Prom.” Featuring an emerging ensemble cast and a powerful soundtrack, “Prom” hits theaters April 29, 2011.

Our Review-

We definitely liked the humor throughout the movie, it was fun for the girls and they definitely saw a bit of the nostalgia associated with high school prom's. Overall, the girls really liked it and mommy just thought it was alright. Not my favorite, but a great one for the tween girls to enjoy.

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure Blue-Ray DVD Combo (Review)

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment recently released "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure" on Blu-ray and DVD. Ashley Tisdale stars in this fish-out-of-water tale about a small town Diva and her dog’s mis-adventures in New York City!

About the movie:

Just how fabulous do you have to be to make it big in the Big Apple? One aspiring diva is about to find out...the hard way! Ashley Tisdale shines in this totally captivating comedy.
After a talent scout spots her performing with her dog Boi at a charity gala, Sharpay Evans (Tisdale) sets off for the bright lights of NYC, convinced instant fame and fortune are in the bag (a designer bag, that is). But theatre's a dog-eat-dog world, as she and Boi discover when they encounter the devious owner of a pampered pooch named "Countess" and a scheming Broadway starlet who will do anything to crush the competition. Fortunately, Sharpay also meets Peyton (Austin Butler), a handsome student filmmaker who finds Sharpay nearly as fascinating as she finds herself. Sparkling with fun, fashion and fantastic bonus features, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure will make your whole family stand up and cheer!

Our Review:

We had a Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure movie night.  It's always a blast with my 7 and soon-to-be 9 year old daughter, along with 3 of their girl cousins.  Aside from the girly fun, the movie turned out to be, better than we expected.  As with most spin-offs they have a hit-or-miss element to them, well Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure (A spin-off of the High School Musical trilogy) was a definitely a hit in our home with our kids. The girls and yes even my sons, enjoyed each of the High School Musical movies. It's even more awesome that the movie was filmed at my old High School, which really is called East High School.

The most hilarious line according to our kids was, in the studio apartment scene, where Sharpay enters the apartment and Sharpay says, "You said this was a studio, NO WAY! MGM is a studio, this, this is a roach motel with no room service!"

We loved Sharpay's character in this film because she shows confidence and what can happen when you follow your dreams and aspirations, regardless of what the journey might bring.  Boi, the dog was such a cute character too!

Here is a clip:

Additionally, a brand new Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure facebook page ( and Twitter handle (!/DisneySharpay) have also launched so that fans can join and stay on-top of all the latest news, sneak peeks and messages from key cast members. Ashley Tisdale and cast, special footage shot on-set by actor Austin Butler, and, exlcusive to the Blu-ray disc, ”The Evolution of the Sharpay,” a fun look back at the famous High School Musical character, Sharpay Evans. From the original producers of High School Musical and the director of The Tooth Fairy, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure is a witty comedy about pursuing your life-long dreams and believing in yourself. The films catchy tunes, Sharpay’s lavishly glittery “pink” outfits, and the adorable featured male co-stars - Austin Butler ("Life Unexpected," "Ruby and the Rockits" and “Zoey 101”) and Bradley Steven Perry ("Good Luck Charlie") - will be sure to keep viewers fully entertained and laughing throughout. 3-Disc Superset (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) with Limited Edition Pink Clutch Purse - $49.99 US/$54.99 Canada 1-Disc DVD - $29.99 US/$35.99 Canada
