Exergen Temporal Scanner Review/Giveaways

With 5 kids and on more on the way we definitely have our share of sick days and fevers. Our old thermometer was the typical plastic cheaply made digital thermometer from the local store. It worked okay for about a year and it's actually not working well right now. I find it annoying to take temperatures for my babies because just dealing with axillary temperatures when you are already sleep deprived just adds more stress when the baby is fussy and sick.
At the doctors office they use Temporal Scanner's and I have only seen them in use there, but I figured they were probably really expensive, but I really could use one. Thanks to the generosity of Exergen , I have had the chance to review one.

I have since used it for all the kids because they have been feeling sick and I have been more confident in knowing that my kids are doing fine with recent bouts of the cold during this cold and flu season. Taking their temperature's is no longer a hassle like the old thermometer I used previously. To use the scanner all you do is remove the cap, hold the button down, while moving the scanner across your child's forehead in the direction of the ear. Any mom will definitely appreciate that it is easy to use, accurate and is affordable and that it also comes with a 1 year warranty and a 9v battery. I would definitely recommend this to all parents and it's a unique and useful baby shower gift as well.

How it works:

As you gently stroke the thermometer across the forehead crossing over the temporal artery, the sensor in its probe performs two processes:
First it scans like a video camera, capturing naturally emitted infrared heat from the arterial blood supply at about 1000 “frames” per second, locking in the highest temperature it senses and;
Second, at the same time, a patented system measures the ambient temperature of the site where the temperature is being taken. The patented "arterial heat balance" (AHB) software then synthesizes the two separate readings to accurately determine and display body temperature.
